Here is an overview of what corporate citizenship at Sodexo means in practice - you can also find out more about our achievements.
Supporting local economies
As a global organisation we are dedicated to supporting initiatives in some of the world's most disadvantaged countries to stimulate local economic growth. For example, on issues surrounding fair trade and international sustainability, we are working closely with suppliers to ensure that fair trade products are available where there is clear consumer demand. We have also worked extensively with a supplier to develop an ethical tea and coffee solution, which we have called Aspretto. This coffee has three accreditations: fair trade, Rainforest Alliance and Soil Association, and for every kilo purchased, Sodexo makes a donation to its STOP Hunger initiative.
Protecting the environment
We recognise our responsibility to the environment and we strive to achieve environmental best practice. Worldwide, we are guided by our Sustainable Development Contract that includes environmental commitments. In the UK and Ireland, we publish an annual report which sets out our performance and progress.
Promoting healthier lifestyles
Our Healthwise philosophy frames our approach to encouraging and maintaining a healthy balanced lifestyle for our customers.
Stopping hunger
Our STOP Hunger initiative is now present in over 25 countries. In 2005, we launched the STOP Hunger campaign in the UK & Ireland, with clear aims to tackle poor nutrition in our local communities and provide a central focus for our community-related activities.
The STOP Hunger campaign consists of three main components:
It's up to you how much you want to get involved but you can count on our support.
