Corporate Citizenship - Our Approach

At Sodexo, corporate citizenship is about doing the right thing. It is our contribution to sustainable development which seeks to integrate economic, social and environmental factors to ensure a better quality of life for present and future generations.

Corporate citizenship, which to us means integrating economic, social and environmental factors into our everyday business practice, is fundamental to the way Sodexo operates. By addressing the issues that affect our stakeholders, and therefore our success, our approach to corporate citizenship aims to ensure a better quality of life for present and future generations through sustainable business practice.

In 2005, Sodexo launched 'Ambition 2015', a set of ambitious ten-year growth targets that include doubling our sales income and tripling our operating profits. To reach these ambitious targets, we have outlined a clear business strategy, which involves:

  • reinforcing our position in food services
  • accelerating our development in facilities management services
  • becoming the global leader in service vouchers and cards

To take our commitment to corporate citizenship to the next level of performance, in Autumn 2009 Sodexo Group launched the 'Better Tomorrow Plan', a sustainability roadmap to 2020. The Better Tomorrow Plan seeks to address the sustainability issues that we have identified as being material to our business and stakeholders. You can read an overview of the plan or a more detailed version.

Our annual corporate citizenship report is now based on the structure of the Better Tomorrow Plan.
