Our ethically traded products
Our range of ethically sourced products now includes 174 items covered by Rainforest Alliance and/or Fairtrade certification ranging from wine and drinking chocolate to bananas.
The Fairtrade marque guarantees fairer conditions that help disadvantaged producers to tackle poverty and invest in a better, more stable future.
“Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.”

Our clients can choose from over 80 Fairtrade products sourced by Sodexo under Fairtrade agreements including coffee, tea, fruit, confectionery, wine, sugar and snacks.
The Rainforest Alliance takes a holistic approach to its work in sustainable agriculture and focuses its efforts in areas of high biodiversity, such as the tropics. Rainforest Alliance certified farms aim to protect waterways, curb deforestation, improve efficiency, ensure decent wages and housing for farm workers, improve worker safety, provide access to education for farm children, limit pesticide use and consume less water. Aspretto is Sodexo's ethical hot beverage offer launched in 2009. Aspretto tea, coffee, sugar and hot chocolate is triple certified by the Fairtrade Foundation, Rainforest Alliance and the Organic Food Federation.
Aspretto is based on four core principles: diversity, health and well-being, environmental protection and social responsibility. Aspretto guarantees:
the traceability of its tea and coffee
product sourcing from local markets accredited by the Fairtrade Foundation, the Rainforest Alliance and organic certification
the use of biodegradable or recyclable packaging and disposables such as cups, stirrers and napkins
