Sodexho, a leading food and facilities management services provider, has announced the signing of a three-year contract with Abingdon School, having won the business in a competitive tender.
The contract, worth £800,000 in annual turnover, sees Sodexho providing breakfast, lunch and dinner for the 800 pupils at Abingdon School, as well as internal and external hospitality services.
Employing approximately 40 members of staff, Sodexho is also providing catering facilities at Abingdon's Preparatory School, Josca's for an additional 250 pupils.
Tim Cooper, director of business development for Independent Schools, said: "Abingdon is a premier school and these opportunities do not often come up in the marketplace. The size of the contract and the prestige it brings is a great indication of our progression in the independent schools sector."
Jonathan Webster, bursar at the school, adds: "After a very careful selection process, we are delighted to award Sodexho the contract. We are looking forward to working with Sodexho to create a truly excellent service."
