Sodexho's celebrity chef to serve up healthy treats for headteachers at Education show.
Celebrity chef Paul Rankin will be on-hand to provide tips on healthy eating, as well as preparing some nutritious smoothies and hot wraps on the Sodexho stand at the Education show on 22-24th March.
Paul will be accompanied by Ian Barnett, craft development chef at Sodexho - a leading food and facilities management services provider, together they will be highlighting the importance of preparing appetising school menus without compromising core healthy values.
Sodexho has been providing school meals for over 50 years, and as part of its commitment to improving the diet of schoolchildren, chefs such as Paul and Ian work together, along with a vast array of experts, to develop healthy and attractive menus for the four million meals that are served in their schools every year.
Sodexho is leading the way in meeting new government regulations with its menus adhering to the standards well ahead of the deadlines given. Its menus met with the food-based standards much sooner than the September 2006 deadline. With the more complicated nutrient standards, Sodexho have taken a lead in the market, with its primary school menus already compliant, and the secondary school menus due to comply very soon - both two years ahead of the deadlines given.
Paul, Ian and the Sodexho stand will be situated in the Healthy Schools Zone at The Education Show, held at the NEC in Birmingham, which attracts around 15,000 visitors every year, many of whom are headteachers from across the country.
