Sodexo Prestige backs 2012 fair pricing

21/4/2009

Sodexo Prestige has become the first catering company to sign up to the 2012 UK Events Industry Fair Pricing and Practice Charter, created by the London Development Group as part of the capital's plans to create business value around the 2012 Olympic Games.

The addition of Sodexo Prestige will make some of the UK's most well known venues and events more accessible to Olympic event planners. Some of the key venues will include British institutions such as HMS Belfast and Churchill Museum, and the Cabinet War Rooms.

David Sharpe, managing director of The London Eye and Head of the 2012 Development Group, said: “We're delighted to have the collective support of Sodexo Prestige and its venues. Their involvement highlights the importance of fair pricing and practice in the lead up to and during the games.”

Chris John, managing director, Sodexo Prestige, said: “We believe it is our responsibility, as a high profile brand within the events industry, to support the 2012 Fair Pricing and Practice Charter across our venue portfolio. We are delighted to be the first group to collectively register.”

Sodexo Prestige has further underlined its support of the London games by signing up as a partner of Visit London.

Tracy Halliwell, Visit London's head of business and conventions said: “Sodexo Prestige represents some of the most recognisable venues and events in London and is a key part of our business tourism product. Their support both as a partner to Visit London and as a supporter of the 2012 Development Group underlines the huge opportunity 2012 represents for the city.”

Sodexo Prestige's London based venues include HMS Belfast, Bateaux London, Southwark Cathedral and the Cabinet War Rooms.
