Sodexo, a leading food and facilities management services provider, has today announced the creation of a new industry focussed pharmaceutical division to address the continued increase in demand for its services.

Building on its successful partnerships with the pharmaceutical industry over the past eight years, Sodexo has recently seen further growth in food, general services and technical support areas.

Sodexo has built a dedicated workforce covering all aspects of integrated facilities management, ranging from food services, specialist cleaning, laboratory environment support, to technical equipment maintenance of scientific assets.

Alongside its traditional FM services, Sodexo has introduced a team of technical experts to self deliver lab instrument services. This specialist support includes: solution repair services, de-commissioning, scientific equipment installation, laboratory moves, preventative maintenance, calibration, operational qualification, full account management, financial reporting asset management IT solution, waste management and Cryogenics.

In 2007, Sodexo and GSK won the prestigious PFM award for Expert Services, which recognises the partnerships and innovation between clients and suppliers with specific skills and expertise in engineering and technical support services.

More recently, in October 2008, Sodexo secured The BIFM Innovations in Systems and Services award for its work with a key pharmaceutical client.

Sodexo's aims to become the premier global expert in quality of life services and, in the last year alone, has secured new food and facilities management contracts worth over £200 million in total.

Whilst we have been working with the pharmaceutical industry for a number of years now, we are pleased to be in a position to be able to dedicate further resource to our clients, underlining our commitment, and position as a leading player in this market”.
