Each year the RHS Chelsea Flower Show heralds the start of the summer season amidst a blaze of glorious colour and exceptional exhibits.

The third week in June heralds the greatest race meeting in the world and the highlight of the summer Social Calendar. Royal Ascot is undoubtedly the most glamorous social event of the summer, and an occasion that provides the ultimate stage for the best racehorses in the world. Heritage, history, pageantry and fashion all merge at Royal Ascot to create the greatest spectacle on earth.

As we enter July, Sodexo Prestige opens the doors to another fine food and drink experience with the quintessentially English Henley Royal Regatta. What better way to spend an afternoon? An idyllic riverside setting, first class hospitality and a relaxing environment; steeped in tradition and going back more than 150 years, the event attracts Olympic and first-class oarsmen from around the world.

The place to be is the stunning Leander Club; synonymous with Henley Royal Regatta and together with the Stewards' Enclosure, provides the perfect haven from the general bustle of the Regatta. Then its the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, the worlds largest annual flower show; demonstrating outstanding garden designs in the majestic grounds of Hampton Court Palace. From 2008 onwards, when the Open Championship took place at The Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, Sodexo Prestige will not only be catering for all of the 16,000 hospitality guests and patrons and 250,000 members of the public who attend the championship each year, but also The R&A, their international guests, the players and their families and the media. In 2009, throughout the course of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show week, Sodexo's 700 per day plus-strong team provided all of the public catering through the various outlets and restaurants located around the site. The visiting public were offered English strawberries and beef from Cornwall, this year Sodexo saw its cash sales rise by four per cent. Following its launch last year the Loch Fyne restaurant offering saw sales increase by 19% on last year and most astonishingly, champagne bar sales were up by 33% year on year.
