Sodexo Justice Services works with our partners and clients to protect the public - both through holding offenders securely, but moreover through reducing reoffending. We seek to challenge offending behaviour and to help individuals to change. In so doing we hope to reduce the damage done to the lives of both victims and offenders, as well as the wider costs of crime to society.
Sodexo Justice Services' vision is to be the organisation of choice in providing justice services.
Our mission is to change lives for the better.
Sodexo Justice Services strives to do this in the following ways:
we work with clients and partners to protect the public;
we seek to reduce crime by challenging offending behaviour; and
we offer individuals the opportunity to change.
Sodexo Justice Services believes that:
everyone can develop and change for the better;
everyone has the right to be treated humanely, decently, respectfully and fairly;
everyone has a responsibility to treat others humanely, decently, respectfully and fairly; and
everyone has a right to live and work in a safe environment.
We operate under stringent ethical principles, and will only operate in:
democratic countries that do not have the death penalty;
countries where our staff are not required to carry firearms; and
countries where the ultimate goal of incarceration is prisoner rehabilitation.
Our values are Safety, Dignity and Opportunity.
We believe that everyone has the right to be treated fairly. As such, we are committed to creating a culture that appreciates and celebrates diversity and inclusion; where prisoners, staff, visitors and suppliers are treated with respect and dignity whatever their age, ability, gender, sexual orientation, race or religion.
We work with our partners in justice services to share and promote good practice; ensure our services meet the diverse needs of prisoners and visitors, as well as respecting their human rights; employ a workforce that reflects the different communities we service and encourage an inclusive working environment.
Our Single Equality and Inclusion Strategy describes how our justice services business delivers on these commitments.
In line with our legal duty, we conduct equality impact assessments of all our justice services policies and programmes across all protected characteristics.
These allow us to:
Determine how our policies and practices affect prisoners, staff, visitors and suppliers
Make decisions about current and future services, as well as understanding the impacts on different groups
Develop ways of monitoring and reviewing the effects of new or changing policies
For copies of our equality impact assessments, please email our enquiries team with your request.
