Responsible Business Week


Responsible Business Week runs from 18 - 22 April.  The week, run by the charity Business in the Community, is designed to inspire more businesses to share and take action to create a positive change in society by becoming ambassadors for the responsible business agenda.

Sodexo is one of hundreds of businesses across the UK taking part in the campaign which this year has the theme ‘ideas for good get better when shared’.

Through debates, events, and conversations, Business in the Community is asking businesses to be more vocal in sharing how they are putting ideas into action to tackle pressing issues: from supporting employees and the future workforce, investing in local communities to developing small businesses and taking action on the environment.

Sodexo in Responsible Business Week

To mark the week we are launching our corporate responsibility report and sharing our key corporate responsibility stories from the past year.

As well as sharing our achievements so far, we will be taking stock on how we can better integrate responsible business into the products we sell and the services we provide as well as the way we engage with our key stakeholders whether they be employees, suppliers or clients.

Each day of responsible business week will feature a different aspect of corporate responsibility.

Monday 18 April: We launch our new corporate responsibility report, reflecting on our achievements over the last year and focusing on what else we can achieve in the future.

Tuesday 19 April: We will focus on our Green & Lean sustainable meals where we explore the overlap between nutrition and sustainability. I’ll be speaking at the BITC hub too!

Wednesday 20 April: We’ll be looking at how we support local communities through inclusive supply chains, with a spotlight on our supply chain inclusion programme and hearing from programme participants Joe & Seph’s, a small food company, who have recently joined our supply chain.

Thursday 21 April: We focus on our approach to diversity and inclusion as an employer, hearing about how our employee networks help to foster a culture of inclusion in our workplaces.

Friday 22 April: Finally we round up with a look at the prevention of food waste. Andrew Shackman from LeanPath explains why he got involved in food waste prevention and where he sees the LeanPath/Sodexo partnership going next.
