Two employees who work for Sodexo’s Student Living business were honoured at last night’s 25th PFM Awards, picking up the Account Director of the Year and Young Leader of the Year.

Fiona Stewart, who oversees all hard and soft FM services within Northumbria University, Newcastle’s residential estate, won Account Director of the Year.

She and her team of 60 have the huge responsibility of looking after 3,126 young adults, most of whom are away from home for the first time. Under Fiona’s direction the team has focused on offering the highest level of accommodation and care by delivering an innovative Residence Life Programme designed to enhance and support student experience.

Kristian Trend, general manager for Student Living by Sodexo at St George’s Tower, Leicester won the Young Leader of the Year.  In his 4 years managing this contract Kristian has consistently shown his ability to build trust and provide professional advice. He has also led a number of innovation projects across the wider Sodexo business and has driven much improved engagement and recognition with his teams.

Andrew Wilkinson, CEO Schools and Universities UK and Ireland said: “I would like to congratulate Fiona and Kristian on winning these awards. We are all incredibly proud of their achievement. These awards recognise the fantastic service they and their teams offer to the students they look after, as well as the hard work, tenacity and dedication that has helped build strong partnerships with their clients.”
