Students at Oasis Academy Hadley in Enfield were treated to a special day of culinary delights inspired by Reggae Reggae sauce.

Craig Miles, a development chef at AB World Foods, the company behind the famous sauce, was invited by the Sodexo catering team at the school to demonstrate ways of using Reggae Reggae sauce for a variety of dishes.

Craig has worked closely with Levi Roots to develop Reggae Reggae sauce for the retail consumer. His enthusiasm for the popular flavour inspired students who participated in a range of cooking activities using the sauce.

The day’s activities kicked off with two assemblies for the primary school students at Hadley. Students were given the opportunity to sample mayonnaise flavoured with Reggae Reggae sauce, dipping crudités to encourage healthier eating choices.

At lunch time, Paul Eastmead, Sodexo’s executive chef at the Academy, created dishes using the sauce, such as Reggae Reggae chicken with rice and peas, and Reggae Reggae ginger tray bake, which staff and students could then try for lunch. The students’ enthusiasm was clear as restaurant takings increased around £200 for the day.

Craig and Paul also presented various dishes to a year ten food technology class and spent some time talking about their careers in the catering industry.

Paul Eastmead, executive development chef for Sodexo Education said; “Hosting a chef linked to such an iconic and exciting brand created a fantastic buzz around the school. The students were really excited to try Reggae Reggae and to see Craig and I in action. We hope we’ve inspired them to get creative in the kitchen.”
