Sodexo continues to build its partnership with Oasis Community Learning.

The extension, from September, of the contract will carry through to 2020 and see the provision of catering services to six further Oasis schools.

Sodexo began its partnership with Oasis, one of the largest and fastest growing multi-Academy sponsors in England, back in 2010 when it was awarded the contract to provide catering at three of the organisation’s schools. Since 2014 Sodexo has been providing the catering at the majority of Oasis Academies across the country.

Oasis Academies is committed to the academic achievement of its pupils and has partnered with Sodexo to ensure that food provided to the pupils in its schools contribute to boosting learning outcomes.

Sodexo ‘s secondary school offer, known as The Social, encourages healthy eating with a high street-style offering  with a wide range of choice of healthy, balanced dishes which appeal to the students.

In 2015, Sodexo achieved the Food for Life Catering Mark at 31 of the Oasis Academy schools, this accreditation is awarded to food providers by the Soil Association as an independent endorsement of the quality, provenance and sustainability of the food they provide, and meeting UK standards for animal welfare.

To help students understand more about where their food comes from Sodexo has partnered with Rocket Gardens to offer each Oasis school a gardening pack of plants so they can get involved and help grow their own fruit and vegetables.

John Barneby, chief operating officer of Oasis Community Learning said, “We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Sodexo. We believe that having access to good, healthy food is really important to help our students learn. We have been impressed by Sodexo’s passion for food and are confident that together we can continue to drive up-take of school meals.”

Matt Garner, director, Sodexo Government Schools said, “We are delighted to have extended our partnership with Oasis Academies.  We have established a strong relationship with the team which is built on a shared commitment to the students’ health and wellbeing which helps lead to positive academic outcomes.”
