Sodexo and Sodexo Prestige were both winners at this year's MIDAS Awards, which recognise the outstanding creative talents of menu development within the foodservice industry.

Sodexo won the new workplace concept category and Sodexo Prestige won the premium staff dining category in the national Menu Innovation and Development (MIDAS) Awards, organised by the Menu Innovation Network.

The judges were impressed with the fresh, seasonal and sustainably sourced ingredients used in both Sodexo's Knead Street Deli offer and Sodexo Prestige's Siemens Crystal café menu.

Sodexo's Knead Street Deli concept is based around exciting, freshly made to order and grab and go deli sandwiches, wraps, bagels and paninis. These are supported by a Meze bar, pasta, pizza, soup and pastries.
Sodexo Prestige's menu for the Siemens' Crystal café in London focuses on outstanding quality, sustainability, health and well-being. It features home-made rustic style salads as well as bistro style sandwiches, freshly baked cakes and cooked food made on-site.

MIDAS awardsSteve Holder, marketing director, Sodexo, said: “I am delighted that the Knead Street Deli concept, which is all about exciting, freshly made food, has been recognised. It mirrors the café culture of the high street and has enabled us to give our clients a high end food offer which works really well as a branded high street substitute.”

Mark Parfait, head of food operations for Sodexo Prestige in London, who created the Crystal café menu, said: “We are thrilled to have been given this award. We understood that our customers are looking for a healthier, more sustainable offering when it comes to informal dining. Our innovative ideas combine the highest standards of quality with a determination to source and prepare food in the most sustainable manner possible.”
