Sodexo, a leading FM services provider, played a leading role in hosting the G8 Nutrition for Growth Summit held at Unilever’s UK corporate headquarters on 8 June 2013.

The event was held at Unilever House in London, one of over 70 sites across Europe where Sodexo provides a full range of FM services.

Over 70 Sodexo staff based at the site played a role in transforming the corporate business space into an international standard conference venue worthy of hosting some of the most high profile names from across the globe. This covered security, cleaning, engineering and maintenance, reprographics, logistics, hospitality and catering.

Commenting on the event, Vicky Thursfield, Sodexo manager at Unilever, said, “The Sodexo team worked very hard to ensure that the day ran smoothly and we were delighted with how well it went.

“We were especially pleased to be involved in this event as the theme was ‘Nutrition for Growth – Beating Hunger through Business and Science,’ which is consistent with Sodexo’s own global STOP Hunger initiative launched in 1996.”

Sodexo’s STOP Hunger initiative aims to tackle hunger and malnutrition in the local communities where it operates. It was launched in the UK and Ireland in 2005 and the Sodexo Foundation, a registered charity, is a driving force behind the initiative.

Speakers at the event included David Cameron, Justine Greening and Bill Gates.
