Sodexo’s Margot Slattery has been highly commended in the European Diversity awards.

The European Diversity Awards are independent awards that recognise and celebrate those organisations and individuals that have shown innovation, creativity and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion during 2013.

Margot was highly commended in the Diversity Champion of the Year category. The event was held this year at the Natural History Museum, London.

Margot, the Sodexo managing director for Ireland, is a visionary leader and has been an ardent supporter of Sodexo’s diversity and inclusion journey in both the UK and Ireland. Since its inception in 2008 Margot has been the representative for Ireland on Sodexo’s diversity and inclusion council and was the founding chair of Sodexo’s women’s network, Women Work.

Margot’s commercial acumen and her passion for inclusion mean she is in demand as a public speaker and a regular feature in the Irish press for her work in this area.

Debbie White, chief executive for Sodexo UK & Ireland said: "We are exceptionally pleased that Margot has been highly commended at these prestigious awards.  She has worked tirelessly in driving our D&I strategy both here and globally. Margot epitomises our core values and we thank her for her willingness and passion to relentlessly help others by committing vast amounts of time and energy to projects both inside and outside of Sodexo.”

Sodexo is the world’s largest services company. Diversity and inclusion is one of Sodexo’s ethical principles embedded in its sustainability strategy to 2020, the Better Tomorrow Plan, which sets out three pillars and 14 commitments for the whole of Sodexo Group across 80 countries and around 34,000 sites.
