Mindful, the nutrition, health and wellness programme from Sodexo, today announces personal trainer and influencer Faisal Abdalla as its first Global Fitness Ambassador.

The partnership combines Sodexo’s mission to improve quality of life where it operates with Faisal’s health and fitness expertise which will benefit Sodexo’s clients and consumers in the UK & Ireland.

For clients, Mindful offers 300 ‘Hero Recipes’ promoting healthy indulgence that are low in calories, sodium, refined sugars and fats. The easy nutritional guidelines make informed decisions about Mindful choices simple – in turn making it easier for Sodexo clients to improve employees’ and customers’ quality of life.

Commenting on the new partnership, Pablo Elespuru, Sodexo’s Senior Director of Service Development and Portfolio, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Faisal as a Mindful global fitness ambassador.

“Sodexo puts quality of life at the heart of everything, so what better way to help our clients promote a positive approach to nutrition, health and wellness than working with Mr PMA himself.”

Known as one of London’s top personal trainers, Faisal’s ‘positive mental attitude’ has become his trademark and earned him the title ‘Mr PMA’. His role as Global Fitness Ambassador sees Faisal create bespoke versions of his signature HIIT sessions, monthly fitness challenges and Motivation Monday blogs, accessible across Mindful social media channels, and the Mindful by Sodexo website. He will also appear on point of sale materials, driving customers to the Mindful website to engage further.

Faisal Abdalla said: “Mindful’s core pillars – eating, living and community – are all things that mean a lot to me, and have a huge impact on my work.

“I truly believe that a positive mental attitude is the most powerful weapon people have. I’m excited to share this with the Mindful community, to help people discover the best versions of themselves.”

Mindful by Sodexo first launched in North America in 2013 in response to the rising demand for healthier lifestyle options, and in its first year eliminated an estimated five tonnes of salt and 14 tonnes of sugar from consumers’ diets. The Mindful approach to food and lifestyle focuses on making healthy choices second nature, based on three pillars: eating, living and community. This includes nutritional guidelines, teachable moments, tools and resources for people to pursue wellness lifestyles together, and a focus on taste and satisfaction.

The partnership launches in the UK & Ireland and North America and is due to extend to Benelux and Asia-Pacific later this year. Mindful will be available to Sodexo’s corporate, university and healthcare clients in the UK.
