Sodexo, the world’s leading services company, has extended its contract with Wellington College.

As part of the overall £25m contract, Sodexo will continue to provide all catering, housekeeping, waste management and porter services to the 1,050 pupils at Wellington College, Berkshire.

Sodexo has provided catering at Wellington College for over 50 years, and these services now include all pupil feeding, hospitality and a café. The 200 Sodexo-managed staff at the site will also provide support to commercial lettings, events, matron and valet services, with 24/7 support.

Founded in 1859, Wellington College is one of the world’s top coeducational day and boarding schools for pupils between 13 and 18. Renowned political biographer Dr Anthony Seldon has been the Master of Wellington College since 2006.

As part of the contract, Sodexo will provide similar services to the 360 pupils at Eagle House, a preparatory and pre-preparatory school for 3 to 13-year-olds, in nearby Sandhurst.

Earlier this year Sodexo sponsored the Sunday Times Festival of Education held at Wellington College. Throughout the two-day event Sodexo provided innovative and quality food for visitors to the event, as well as running a number of cookery contests led by celebrity chef Paul Rankin.

Jane Bristow, managing director of Sodexo Education, said: “We are delighted to continue our long partnership with Wellington College, which goes back over half a century. We hope the staff, pupils and visitors continue to enjoy our responsibly-sourced, healthy range of freshly-prepared food. Our housekeeping, waste management and porter services will continue to allow the school to focus on providing pupils with an inspiring academic experience.”

Stephen Crouch, bursar and group finance director at Wellington College, said: “We are delighted to renew our long relationship with Sodexo and continue to provide a first class service to all those who visit and stay at the College throughout the year.”
