Sodexo Prestige in Scotland has won a three-year contract to provide conferencing and banqueting facilities for Freemasons’ Hall in Edinburgh.

The contract, which is worth a six figure sum, will see Sodexo Prestige also promote and sell the imposing venue, which is situated in the Scottish capital’s prestigious George Street.

The complex consists of two halls, a grand committee room, a museum and library, and the other committee rooms, all of which can all be hired out. The Grand Hall can host dinners for 240 people and receptions for 400 people. Drinks receptions for up to 500 people can be held using the various rooms.

Austin Tilsley, regional director for Sodexo Prestige in Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract for one of Edinburgh’s most unique, though under-utilised, conferencing and events venues. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the client to develop the venue and put it on the map as one of Edinburgh’s leading events sites.”

David Begg, Grand Secretary, said: “I am looking forward to working with Prestige Scotland at Freemasons' Hall. They proved themselves through the tendering process to be the market leaders in Edinburgh with the drive, operational excellence and robust sales team which I trust will assist us to grow and develop the potential of the building in the coming years."
