Sodexo has announced the first Quality of Life Conference, to take place in New York City on 5-6 May.

The Conference aims to engage a collective movement of global leaders who believe that focusing on people's welfare can be a powerful driver of social and economic performance.

Today's economic landscape has highlighted the limitations of the traditional business growth model.

Societies and corporations throughout the world are facing the same challenge: finding new resources to enable more balanced growth, capable of delivering not just financial value but also the personal fulfillment that should result from it.

"We consider Quality of Life to be a key, yet largely unexplored factor - a new frontier in individual and collective performance," explains CEO Michel Landel. "This is why we are bringing together leaders from around the world to address the challenge it represents."

The Conference will provide a unique opportunity for 300 leaders from a broad range of sectors
- corporations, health, defence and education, along with think tanks, public authorities, civil services, NGOs and the media - to meet, challenge current models and be inspired by valuable experiences.

Speakers will include:

  • Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme

  • Arianna Huffington, Chair, President, and Editor-In-Chief of The Huffington Post Media Group, USA

  • Earvin 'Magic' Johnson, Founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation, USA
