Sodexo, a leading provider of FM services, is celebrating after Jaguar Land Rover’s WoodLand Wellbeing Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire, which it operates, was named Corporate Club of the Year at the ukactive and Matrix Flame Awards 2013.

The ukactive and Matrix Flame Awards 2013 were announced at the annual Ball of Fire, the finale of the annual Flame Conference, ukactive's biggest networking and educational event of the year, attended by some 800 key decision makers and senior management from across the entire sector.

Working as partners to Jaguar Land Rover, Sodexo delivers an agreed strategy to provide a wellbeing centre that assists Jaguar Land Rover employees to become more active and attain a better work life balance through its Healthworks health and fitness offer.

Jaguar Land Rover’s WoodLand Wellbeing Centre plays an integral part of the its wellbeing strategy. Sodexo has created strong links with both Jaguar Land Rover’s human resources and occupational health teams, and together they deliver a successful centre, year on year the centre has received nine plus in the client satisfaction survey. This survey has also revealed its impact on employees with 80 per cent of employee members believe that using the gym improves their ability to do their job; 60 per cent say that having a gym onsite makes them more committed to the company; and 85 per cent think access to the gym has a positive impact on staff morale.

Sodexo offers every member a 12-week intensive induction programme which monitors and motivates them through regular communication and programme development. Sodexo also encourages members to do more than a work-out, the team run charity events such as swimathons and rowathons as well as encouraging members to take part in charity events such as fun runs and 10Ks with support and specific training provided by the Sodexo team.

The aim of the wellbeing centre and Sodexo is to get more people active, a good example of Sodexo’s approach is the creation of a ‘non-runners’ running club which is aimed at people who find running difficult but want to give it a go, the Sodexo team provide this in a non-intimidating environment.

Sodexo’s Healthworks clients are assured of the highest standards of service and quality through its membership of the Fitness Industry Association. All its fitness instructors are registered with Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and through its own programme they receive individually tailored, continued professional development.

Healthworks Training Pathway, a three year programme run through PTontheNET (12 CPD points per year) is designed to ensure their fitness knowledge is up to date as well as making them think about the key processes within our business – this course is mandatory for every manager and staff member.

The foundation of the Healthworks offer is built around the globally recognised ISO9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and all our operational processes are integral to the system. This includes a monthly service level agreement, self audits and annual external ISO audits.
