Sodexo vending and hot beverage co-ordinator, Diane Gleeson, has been named on the 2019 Future List by Northern Power Women. The Future List recognises the influencers and change makers of the future who are already making a difference in their environments and communities.

Diane joined Sodexo in 2015 as administrative support for its security team, which led to her involvement in the organisation’s Women in Security network group. In 2017 Diane became co-chair of the group and continues to hold the role.

As part of the Women in Security network group, Diane has developed engagement strategies including newsletters, creating the network’s Twitter account and organising networking events. In November 2017, the network group celebrated its five-year anniversary with 2019 Future List fellow Michelle Partington.

Over the last four years Diane has proven her dedication and professionalism. Not long after joining Sodexo she was promoted to security coordinator before moving into project management roles before taking up her current position.

Just one year after joining Sodexo her potential was recognised when she received the title of Rising Star of the Year 2016 at Sodexo’s annual internal awards.

Diane Gleeson, vending and hot beverage co-ordinator, commented, “I’m honoured to have been named in this list. The nomination took me by complete surprise.

“I am extremely lucky to work alongside some incredibly inspirational and passionate women at Sodexo. I am looking forward to learning more about the Northern Power Women campaign and continuing to support my Sodexo colleagues around the topic of gender parity.”

Diane is also a member of the SoTogether leadership team - a Sodexo UK & Ireland employee network created to promote gender equality. On 5 March, to celebrate International Women’s Day, the SoTogether network will be launching an FM Hub to help drive gender balance in traditionally non-female roles and support women in facilities management with career progression.

Northern Power Women is a collaborative campaign accelerating and promoting gender diversity from the North of England. It aims to transform the culture of organisations to increase opportunities for women by showcasing role models and best practice.
