Irish football star Stephanie Roche has been named as Health & Wellbeing Ambassador for Sodexo Ireland.

The ‘teaming up’ was revealed at a breakfast at the Bord Bia offices in Dublin and marks the beginning of a three year partnership between Stephanie and Sodexo. In her role as Health & Wellbeing Ambassador, Stephanie will be supporting the company’s ‘Healthwise’ initiative across its 200 site locations in the Republic and Northern Ireland.

Margot Slattery, managing director, Sodexo Ireland, said, “Our Healthwise initiative is a central part of our commitment towards delivering quality of life services and providing our customers with the knowledge and insights on how to live a healthy lifestyle and the importance of a balanced and varied diet. We work very closely with our clients to provide menus comprising easy and practical healthy lifestyle options for their employees, our customers. Stephanie will play a key position in helping our clients and customers to achieve their healthy lifestyle goals in an interesting, enjoyable and fun way and we’re absolutely delighted that she’s now part of our team.”

“Stephanie is a great role model and, given the popularity of football in Ireland, I know many of our clients and our own staff are very much looking forward to meeting her and perhaps picking up a few tips on how to recreate that wonderful goal!” Margot continued.

Stephanie said, “As a professional football player, getting the right nutrition is as critical to my performance on the pitch as my levels of fitness and skill are. As a result, it’s developed my own interest in food and cooking in general, not only as a vital fuel but also for fun and relaxation. I am very impressed with Sodexo’s commitment towards promoting a healthy lifestyle and I’m really looking forward to working with and supporting them in this area.”

Sodexo Ireland delivers services that improve the quality of life to clients in business and industry, education, financial services and healthcare. It employs approximately 2,000 staff in 200 locations across Ireland, serves 90,000 people daily and spends almost €19 million annually on local Irish food.
