To date the three have raised more than 75% of their £2,000 target.

Damian Evans, Director at HMP Peterborough, said:

Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall is a local charity we’ve supported since we opened in 2005 and one which is close to many of our hearts. Many colleagues and their families have received help or care from the hospice so I am delighted that David, Craig and Chris have raised so much money for such a worthy cause.

The hospice recently announced it was facing a funding gap of approximately £1.6m as a result of precautionary measures taken to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

David Fleming, Head of Male Residence at HMP Peterborough, said: “What started out as a joke about the lack of barbers being open due to lockdown quickly became an opportunity to raise funds for the hospice.

“We wanted to be able to play our own small part in helping with their emergency appeal while overcoming one of the many challenges lockdown has brought.”
