As a prison custody officer (PCO) you will be trained for all kinds of situations, from keeping the prison safe to helping offenders learn new skills. It is a challenging role, but you’ll have the support of a strong team and excellent training.

Education is really important in helping people develop skills and gain qualifications to support their rehabilitation for when they return to their community. We aim to provide the basic qualifications needed for most jobs – including functional English and Maths.

There’s much more to running a prison than might first meet the eye. The Facilities Management team, which includes electricians, plumbers, and other maintenance professionals, all work together to help keep the prison operating smoothly and safely.
