Sodexo expands health and wellbeing programme across its Government, Defence, and Energy divisions
Sodexo has today launched an expanded health and wellbeing programme, Mindful Active, which will now be rolled out to hundreds of new sites across its Defence, Government, Agencies, and Energy business divisions.
The educational programme, first introduced at selected military sites in 2022, will now be available at all Sodexo-serviced military sites, including at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus for the first time, in addition to a wide range of Government, Agencies, and Energy sites, such as Scottish Parliament, Transport for London, and Sella Ness on the Shetland Islands.
Led by registered dietitian and Sodexo’s Nutrition & Wellbeing Manager, Kate Hilton, the Mindful Active programme will feature 12 themed campaigns designed to educate, inspire, and support people to making healthier lifestyle choices.
We know that people are surrounded by health and wellbeing advice every day but knowing what to trust or how to turn information into practical changes can be a real barrier for some.
That’s the challenge Mindful Active aims to address, making it easier for our customers to access evidence-led and tailored support while they deliver their essential duties in government, defence, blue light services, or while working remotely on energy infrastructure projects.
New to the programme are face-to-face professional support workshops held on-site, delivering practical advice and tailored guidance on diet, nutrition, mental wellbeing, fitness performance, rest and recovery. It will also feature digital and physical recourses, such as recipe cards, which will be promoted through Mindful Active Champions at every site.
Built around four core pillars – Fuel, Focus, Perform and Restore – and informed by the Ministry of Defence’s UK Armed Forces Continuous Attitudes Survey (AFCAS) and Sodexo's Annual Defence Survey, Mindful Active aims to engage and influence thousands more customers throughout the duration of the programme.
According to the latest AFCAS survey in May 2026, more than a quarter (26%) of service personnel rate their anxiety as high.
The first campaigns will focus on a balanced diet, hydration, and sleep, followed by nutritional advice for those working shifts, maintaining energy levels, and myth-busting the growing misinformation about diet and wellness found on social media.
I’m delighted that we’re expanding access to the Mindful Active programme across our business, which will enable more of our customers to benefit from the professional advice, resources, and face-to-face support.
This is another example of Sodexo’s ongoing commitment to understanding and improving the lived experience of the people we serve.
