Apprenticeships are a key lever for social mobility.

This means that every one of our employees has the same opportunity to develop and progress their career in the way that’s best for them, ensuring they can all belong, act and thrive at Sodexo.

Apprenticeships are an excellent way for people of all ages to develop skills in areas that will help them develop in their chosen career. Through an apprenticeship you can earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised professional qualification, while also getting invaluable on the job experience, which can put you ahead of other potential recruits.

We’re proud of the wide variety of apprenticeships we offer, with almost 80 available in areas such as IT and business administration, facilities management, hospitality and catering, healthcare and prison custody. Colleagues can participate in Level 2 programmes if they are at the start of their career, through to Level 7 if they are looking to complete their learning in a specialist area.

"Apprenticeships are a key element of our learning offer at Sodexo and embody our employee value proposition – we're committed to enabling all our people to develop, grow and thrive in their own way."

Pete SiddleTalent and Learning Director at Sodexo

Apprenticeship levy gifting to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs)

We are passionate about helping other organisations with apprenticeship recruitment, and have gifted or pledged £2.8million of our own apprenticeship levy to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) that would benefit from apprenticeship training.

Our approach is to ‘gift with purpose’ to employers that share the company’s ethos when it comes to health and safety, and ensuring their workforce is diverse and inclusive. Through levy transfer, we have so far supported 126 apprentices at SMEs, with more coming on board regularly.
