Sodexo applies digital and data-first approach to deliver efficient, sustainable asset management at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
Sodexo Health & Care is set to roll out an intelligent and collaborative asset performance management software to make smarter decisions and increase efficiency, sustainability, and cost savings following its success at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT)
Sodexo partnered with Xempla to implement the technology at MFT, one of the largest acute NHS Trusts in the country. Over the last 18 months the system has enabled Sodexo to make significant improvements in the delivery of services at MFT, this includes:
- reduce energy costs by over £300,000
- 1million KWh reduction in electrical energy consumption
- Carbon reduction of over 2,000 tonnes
- Avoiding 85 asset early lifecycle events and preventing 69 critical asset outages and user areas functional unavailability
The Xempla system is fully-integrated into Sodexo’s existing systems and uses proactive tracking and monitoring to identify potential issues with assets through the DIIV (Discover, Investigate, Implement and Verify) framework. Once identified, engineers collaborate through the system before implementing measures to resolve the issue, preventing assets and critical areas of the hospital from becoming unexpectedly unavailable.
Xempla asset performance management software covers functional design data, anomaly detection, energy optimisation, predictive analytics, and maintenance optimisation in one application and integrates fully with various data systems/sources to provide holistic coverage on asset performance management.
Any electrical or mechanical asset that is streaming operational data can be integrated with Xempla enabling FM teams to undertake work when it needs to be done, moving from a reactive to a proactive service, and by doing so ensuring the asset works as it was designed to, and as efficiently as possible, delivering optimal energy consumption.
