At Sodexo, we believe that apprenticeships provide a valuable opportunity to new recruits and current employees alike.

Apprenticeships are an excellent way for people of all ages to develop skills in areas that will help them develop in their chosen career. Through an apprenticeship, you can earn while you learn, and gain a nationally recognised professional qualification while also getting invaluable on-the-job experience, which can put you ahead of other potential recruits.

We’re proud of the wide variety of apprenticeships we offer, with almost 70 available in areas such as IT and business administration, facilities management, hospitality and catering, healthcare and prison custody, and from Level 2 programmes, if you are at the start of your career, through to Level 7 if you are looking to complete your learning in your specialist area.

We’ve committed to considering all vacancies and job roles as apprenticeships wherever possible. And we’re equally committed to ensuring that each and every one of our employees have the same opportunity to develop and progress in their career in the way that’s best for them.

Apprenticeship levy gifting

We are passionate about helping other organisations with apprenticeship recruitment, and have gifted £1million of our own apprenticeship levy to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) that would benefit from apprenticeship training. Our approach is to ‘gift with purpose’ to employers that share the company’s ethos when it comes to health and safety, and ensuring their workforce is diverse and inclusive. Through levy transfer, we have so far supported 63 apprentices at SMEs, with more coming on board regularly.

If you are an SME and would like a discussion about levy gifting, please contact the apprenticeships team

Become an engineer with our technical apprenticeship programme

We have launched a technical apprenticeship programme to attract new engineering talent and develop a pool of skilled engineers and future managers. Recruits can do one of several qualifications, such as a three-year electrical programme or a maintenance and operations engineering technician apprenticeship, while also working at one of Sodexo’s client sites. They will work in different areas of Sodexo’s business to gain valuable experience in various market sectors, and Sodexo-run enrichment days provide them with a better understanding of the facilities management industry as well as skills in effective communication and management that can be applied throughout their career. We are currently recruiting a number of Technical Apprentices - follow the link below to find out more!
