Sodexo, a leading provider of on-site service solutions, has won gold in this year's Healthy Eating Awards, for the catering services it provides at Kimberly-Clark in West Malling.

The awards, organised and run by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, culminated with a presentation ceremony, where Michael Brooker, business manager and Gail Davies, sous chef, both of Sodexo, received the gold award from the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Councillor Dave Davies.

The accolade, which Sodexo will hold for three years, came after a local Environmental Health Officer visited the site for a routine inspection and was so impressed with the quality and standard of the food being served on site, that she recommended Sodexo entered the awards.

The on-site team had to complete an extensive questionnaire, which asked in detail what ingredients are used on site, where they come from and how dishes and products are made. This was followed by an external audit, where all their claims had to be backed up by physical evidence.

All staff on site are exceptionally pleased with their achievement, with Sodexo's Mike Brooker commenting: “We are all really thrilled with this, our first catering award win and it reflects the commitment by the team at Kimberly-Clark, and the wider Sodexo business, to continuously develop our healthy menu options, and to improve the overall wellbeing of our customers.
