Sodexo has opened a new 24-hour security control room to manage the phenomenal growth of Secure as it heads towards 250 sites across the UK and Ireland.

Part of Sodexo’s Secure offer, the control room has been built to take into account Sodexo’s global security strategy. The control room is a single point of contact for all security employees, providing support for lone workers, alarm monitoring and innovative CCTV monitoring which allows the team to virtually oversee client sites.

The control room is based in Salford and operated by a team of dedicated control room personnel around the clock. It was officially opened by Sodexo Security Officer of the Year 2013 Craig Davies from a healthcare site, Sodexo Security Officer Darryl Bedding from a corporate site and Sodexo Centre of Excellence director Phil Smith.

Mark Death, Sodexo national security manager, said: “We’re delighted to open the new control room, which will enable us to provide efficient and cost-effective security to our clients. Our lone worker support and innovative alarm monitoring systems mean we can increase the scope of our services and management systems as part of the Secure offer.”
