Sodexo recognised for its partnership approach with two clients at the 2020 PFM Partnership Awards with Anthony Boyton taking home the Account Director of the Year award.

First to be announced at the virtual ceremony held on 17 March 2021 was Anthony Boyton as Account Director of the Year.  Anthony received the award after having transferred his skills from hospitality to FM. Anthony is employed by Sodexo’s sports and leisure business but due to the pandemic forcing the closure of hospitality he redeployed to support the national effort and has been instrumental in the set up and management of Sodexo’s Covid-19 testing business. Judges were impressed by Anthony’s ‘remarkable transfer of skills and his critical incident management coupled with a superb example of partnership working’.

Next up was the Partners in International FM Delivery award which went to Johnson & Johnson and Sodexo’s WeCo Vested agreement which has been created to enhance the workplace for Johnson & Johnson employees. The ongoing success of the partnership is evidenced by continuous CaT (Compatibility and Trust) assessments showing outstanding results in all categories.

Diageo and Sodexo were then named winners in the Partnership in Technology Application award for the delivery of a live information management system in just two months. Diageo and Sodexo had a shared aspiration to create a system which was efficient, user friendly and trustworthy. The new system uses the Microsoft analytics tool Power BI, with supporting technology including Microsoft SharePoint. The use of the technology as an enabler is part of the transformation envisioned in which user experience, operational excellence and value generation were at the forefront.

Commenting on the entry the judges said: “A significant new way of working had been introduced as a result of close and integrated technical collaboration between the lead client and supplier contract manager without any assistance from a third-party IT company. The system had been built and implemented ‘by users for users’ as part of the day to day relationship. An impressive collaborative partnership has created a powerful information management tool which is mutually beneficial to both companies and has the potential for extension to other contracts.”

Sean Haley, region chair Sodexo UK & Ireland, said:

Well done to all our winners at yesterday’s PFM Partnership awards.

This is well deserved recognition for Anthony who had very little FM experience when he took on the new role. The testing centre project itself had never been implemented in the UK before, but Anthony took on the operational responsibility and worked with a number of partner organisations and teams from various parts of our business to ensure each centre and team were mobilised and operational as quickly as possible.

Anthony has truly demonstrated our core values of service spirit, team spirit and spirit of progress. Well done and thank you Anthony.

I am also delighted to hear that yet again our partnership with clients Johnson & Johnson and Diageo have been recognised, both received accolades at the 2020 IWFM awards and to win these too is fantastic news and is representative of the hard work, partnership working and dedication of our people.

Congratulations to all involved.
